  • Prospective for many commodities

  • World Class Mineral Resources

  • Qualified and experienced labour force

  • Strong Institutions

The largest country in South America and fifth largest in the world, Brazil has one of richest mineral endowments on Earth.  Mining in Brazil has a long and storied history dating back many centuries.  Brazil is a major player in global commodity markets hosting globally significant reserves of Iron Ore, Rare Earths, Copper, Tin, Gold and others.  Many global miners operate in here including Brazilian global giant, Vale.

With a large population base and a strong mining sector, skilled labour for mining and exploration is abundant.  Brazilians have Portuguese as a principal language, although many professionals have working knowledge of English.  Spanish is also a common second language and due to its closeness to Portuguese, most Brazilians have the ability to converse with Spanish speakers to some degree.

Brazil has some of the strongest and most modern institutions in the region although the change of the presidency in 2023 has seen sentiment towards mining and exploration diminish substantially.  The institutions of Brazil provide support for companies operating there but one must be aware of the recent changes within the political landscape and tread carefully.
